California.
San Francisco is amazing.
Brief overview of my trip:
Tuesday: Got into San Fran about 10:00am. Brian picked me up at the airport. We ran some errands and hung out and went downtown and rode public transportation. He went to work. Our friends Pat and Niki came and hung out with me for a little bit. Brian came back from work. We all went out to eat and our friend Danny met us for dinner. Then we went back to Brian's and hung out and annoyed his roommates cause we were being too loud. whatever. We had a great time. I'm glad we all got to hang out.
Wednesday: We slept in. Brian had class and I went shopping. I did public transportation on my own and Brian was proud of me. I told him in the begining I don't DO public transportation. He didn't understand. I explained that we have public transportation but it's useless to me so I never do public transportation. Anyway..I got a new purse and some awesome jewelry. After shopping we met back up at his place and got ready for the show and went to see Jimmy Eat World. It was amazing. The venue was awesome minus the fact that they didn't have any posters and that made me mad. I can't even tell you how awesome the show was...we'll leave it at that. After the show we walked back in the rain and then went to Starbucks. Apparently in San Francisco there are many Starbucks that are open 24/7. Who knew?
Thursday: We woke up and went to breakfast/lunch. Brunch? Then we went to Starbucks. Then we went to this way awesome art museum and saw an Andy Warhol exhibit. That was cool. We also saw a YSL exhibit that I thought was pretty amazing. (For those that don't know YSL is Yves Saint Laurent aka a totally important clothing designer. He died last year. Sad times.) Anyway...they had a bunch of his haute couture from the 70s til now. Pretty amazing stuff. Brian thought it was boring, I thought it was awesome. At the top of this art museum. I think it's the DeYoung? Or something like that...there is the most AMAZING view of San Francisco. That day was beautiful and you could see everything. Pretty awesome. We joked about going to Alcatraz but didn't go. We were trying to think of non touristy things to do in San Francisco since I'd already seen all of that...but then we just opted to go back to his house and watch TV. So that's what we did. Watched TV. Took naps. Played with iPhones/iTouch/Blackberry. Then eventually it was time for bed. We had planned on going to Santa Cruz which is this awesome town by the beach. They filmed Lost Boys there. Pretty cool. It was supposed to rain so we didn't go cause it was gonna be like an hour drive.
Friday: Brian went to class early. I went out around 9:30....Sat in Starbucks for a while and made a ton of phone calls...then I planned to go down to Haight/Ashbury which is a really cool hippie part of San Fran...there are lots of vintage shops and music stores and awesome stuff. I missed the bus by like 3 seconds though...so I decided not to go so I just hung out around Union Square and then eventually went back to his house and we ate lunch and then he took me to the airport and then I came home.
It went by fast.
I'm sad it's over. I still want to be there right now because San Francisco is an amazing place. I love it. But yeah...the weather is definitely better here...FOR NOW. Not for long.
Some things I learned while being there:
The word "hella". I already knew this word but I mean, they use it to the EXTREME. Every sentence has the word "hella" in it. This blog is hella boring. I was hella on my way to the store. I am hella tired. I hella miss San Francisco. I'm hella awesome
Public Transportation. So easy to use in San Francisco. The Muni. Yeah, I'm coo now.
The Alcatraz Triathon is REAL. WTF. That is hella hardcore. Swimming from Alcatraz to the shore in FREEZING shark infested waters?! OMG. Crazy
Being from Texas is awesome. (I already knew that too) But seriously, people that found out I was from Texas loved me.
So here are some pics. I didn't take a lot but...whatever.
